What is a Traditional Mediation?

Mediation occurs when the parties come together in an informal setting and attempt to settle their dispute with the help of a mediator, who is a neutral third party. Mediation allows people to negotiate the issues with a hands-on approach. The parties personally appear and participate in the discussions. They, or through their attorneys, communicate with one another with the intent to listen and understand, not to argue and react. As mediator, Paula Lozano Parisi facilitates the conversation and acts as an encourager for the parties to share information, discuss needs, and present ideas on how to resolve the dispute without a judge or jury. Mediation puts the outcome of the case in the hands of the parties and removes the risk of trial! It is an efficient and cost-effective strategy for the parties to completely resolve the conflict or lawsuit on their own terms. Paula will assist the parties during the negotiation and bargaining process. She will ensure the settlement agreement details the agreements, desires and needs as discussed between the parties. As peacemaker, Paula's goal is for everyone to reach a compromise that allows for closure and healing.

What is a Faith-Based Mediation?

Christian Mediation Services

Paula has the unique ability to offer a faith-based dispute resolution service for those who are interested in keeping their faith front and center while negotiating disputes. As a believer who leads Christian small groups, Bible Study and intercessory prayer at her church, Paula is dedicated to providing a safe, peaceful and prayerful negotiation process for her believing brothers and sisters. Christian mediation utilizes biblical principles to help resolve conflicts and restore relationships. While the structured approach is similar to a traditional mediation, Paula's guidance and encouragement will be grounded in scripture and biblical teachings and will aim to promote reconciliation among parties. Parties can expect meaningful time to pray, seek wisdom and guidance from Holy Spirit, discuss relevant scripture, and agree to communicate in a loving, brotherly and sisterly manner as supported and encouraged by biblical principles.
